The government has approved rules for marketplaces — a register of intermediary digital platforms will be introduced from October 1, 2026. It will be maintained by the Ministry of Economic Development. What does this mean for entrepreneurs who sell through marketplaces? Essentially, the state is beginning to systematically regulate platforms as intermediaries. Data enters the register either upon the application of the platform owner, based on data from government agencies, or — interestingly — upon the application of a counterparty. The last point opens the door for sellers: if the platform fails to comply with requirements, you can initiate an inspection. This is a tool of influence that did not exist before. For small and medium-sized businesses, the benefit is that a transparent mechanism emerges. Previously, a marketplace could unilaterally change terms, and it was difficult to prove anything. Now, there is a register, a regulator, and a procedure. Who has already faced platform arbitrariness — what do you think about such changes?
